CritiSense: Critical Digital Literacy and Resilience Against Misinformation

소셜 미디어상의 허위 정보는 정보에 입각한 의사 결정을 저해하고 공공의 신뢰를 훼손합니다. 사전 예방적 교육(prebunking)은 사용자가 실제 허위 정보에 노출되기 전에 조작 기술을 인식하도록 돕는 능동적인 방법입니다. 본 연구에서는 짧고 상호작용적인 챌린지와 즉각적인 피드백을 통해 이러한 능력을 향상시키는 모바일 미디어 리터러시 앱인 '크리티센스'를 소개합니다. '크리티센스'는 9개 언어를 지원하는 최초의 다국어 및 모듈형 플랫폼으로, 다양한 주제 및 영역에 대한 신속한 업데이트가 가능하도록 설계되었습니다. 93명의 사용자를 대상으로 한 사용성 연구 결과, 83.9%의 사용자가 전반적인 만족도를 나타냈으며, 90.1%의 사용자가 앱의 사용 편의성을 높게 평가했습니다. 질적 피드백은 '크리티센스'가 디지털 리터러시 기술 향상에 기여한다는 것을 시사합니다. 전반적으로, '크리티센스'는 다국어 사전 예방 교육 플랫폼을 제공하며, 미세 학습이 허위 정보에 대한 회복력에 미치는 영향을 측정하는 테스트베드 역할을 합니다. 3개월 이상 동안 300명 이상의 활성 사용자를 확보했습니다. Misinformation on social media undermines informed decision-making and public trust. Prebunking offers a proactive complement by helping users recognize manipulation tactics before they encounter them in the wild. We present CritiSense, a mobile media-literacy app that builds these skills through short, interactive challenges with instant feedback. It is the first multilingual (supporting nine languages) and modular platform, designed for rapid updates across topics and domains. We report a usability study with 93 users: 83.9% expressed overall satisfaction and 90.1% rated the app as easy to use. Qualitative feedback indicates that CritiSense helps improve digital literacy skills. Overall, it provides a multilingual prebunking platform and a testbed for measuring the impact of microlearning on misinformation resilience. Over 3+ months, we have reached 300+ active users.
