iPhoneBlur: A Difficulty-Stratified Benchmark for Consumer Device Motion Deblurring

Motion blur restoration on consumer mobile devices is typically evaluated using aggregate metrics that obscure performance variation across blur difficulty, masking model behavior under real deployment conditions. This work introduces iPhoneBlur, a difficulty-stratified benchmark of 7,400 image pairs synthesized from high-framerate iPhone 17 Pro videos captured in diverse real-world scenarios. Samples are partitioned into Easy, Medium, and Hard categories through PSNR-guided adaptive temporal windowing, with stratification validated by monotonic 2.2x increase in optical flow magnitude across tiers. Each sample includes comprehensive metadata enabling investigation of ISP-aware and difficulty-adaptive restoration strategies. Spectral analysis confirms synthesized blur exhibits high-frequency suppression patterns consistent with authentic motion degradation. Evaluation of six architectures reveals consistent 7-9 dB performance degradation from Easy to Hard subsets, a substantial gap entirely hidden by aggregate reporting. The benchmark further exposes a domain gap between professional and consumer cameras which targeted fine-tuning substantially recovers. By coupling difficulty stratification with deployment-critical metadata, iPhoneBlur enables systematic assessment of model reliability and failure modes for resource-constrained edge systems.

BiST: A Gold Standard Bangla-English Bilingual Corpus for Sentence Structure and Tense Classification with Inter-Annotator Agreement

High-quality bilingual resources remain a critical bottleneck for advancing multilingual NLP in low-resource settings, particularly for Bangla. To mitigate this gap, we introduce BiST, a rigorously curated Bangla-English corpus for sentence-level grammatical classification, annotated across two fundamental dimensions: syntactic structure (Simple, Complex, Compound, Complex-Compound) and tense (Present, Past, Future). The corpus is compiled from open-licensed encyclopedic sources and naturally composed conversational text, followed by systematic preprocessing and automated language identification, resulting in 30,534 sentences, including 17,465 English and 13,069 Bangla instances. Annotation quality is ensured through a multi-stage framework with three independent annotators and dimension-wise Fleiss Kappa ($κ$) agreement, yielding reliable and reproducible labels with $κ$ values of 0.82 and 0.88 for structural and temporal annotation, respectively. Statistical analyses demonstrate realistic structural and temporal distributions, while baseline evaluations show that dual-encoder architectures leveraging complementary language-specific representations consistently outperform strong multilingual encoders. Beyond benchmarking, BiST provides explicit linguistic supervision that supports grammatical modeling tasks, including controlled text generation, automated feedback generation, and cross-lingual representation learning. The corpus establishes a unified resource for bilingual grammatical modeling and facilitates linguistically grounded multilingual research.

KUET at StanceNakba Shared Task: StanceMoE: Mixture-of-Experts Architecture for Stance Detection

Actor-level stance detection aims to determine an author expressed position toward specific geopolitical actors mentioned or implicated in a text. Although transformer-based models have achieved relatively good performance in stance classification, they typically rely on unified representations that may not sufficiently capture heterogeneous linguistic signals, such as contrastive discourse structures, framing cues, and salient lexical indicators. This motivates the need for adaptive architectures that explicitly model diverse stance-expressive patterns. In this paper, we propose StanceMoE, a context-enhanced Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) architecture built upon a fine-tuned BERT encoder for actor-level stance detection. Our model integrates six expert modules designed to capture complementary linguistic signals, including global semantic orientation, salient lexical cues, clause-level focus, phrase-level patterns, framing indicators, and contrast-driven discourse shifts. A context-aware gating mechanism dynamically weights expert contributions, enabling adaptive routing based on input characteristics. Experiments are conducted on the StanceNakba 2026 Subtask A dataset, comprising 1,401 annotated English texts where the target actor is implicit in the text. StanceMoE achieves a macro-F1 score of 94.26%, outperforming traditional baselines, and alternative BERT-based variants.

Multi-Level Bidirectional Decoder Interaction for Uncertainty-Aware Breast Ultrasound Analysis

Breast ultrasound interpretation requires simultaneous lesion segmentation and tissue classification. However, conventional multi-task learning approaches suffer from task interference and rigid coordination strategies that fail to adapt to instance-specific prediction difficulty. We propose a multi-task framework addressing these limitations through multi-level decoder interaction and uncertainty-aware adaptive coordination. Task Interaction Modules operate at all decoder levels, establishing bidirectional segmentation-classification communication during spatial reconstruction through attention weighted pooling and multiplicative modulation. Unlike prior single-level or encoder-only approaches, this multi-level design captures scale specific task synergies across semantic-to-spatial scales, producing complementary task interaction streams. Uncertainty-Proxy Attention adaptively weights base versus enhanced features at each level using feature activation variance, enabling per-level and per-sample task balancing without heuristic tuning. To support instance-adaptive prediction, multi-scale context fusion captures morphological cues across varying lesion sizes. Evaluation on multiple publicly available breast ultrasound datasets demonstrates competitive performance, including 74.5% lesion IoU and 90.6% classification accuracy on BUSI dataset. Ablation studies confirm that multi-level task interaction provides significant performance gains, validating that decoder-level bidirectional communication is more effective than conventional encoder-only parameter sharing. Bridging the Gap in Bangla Healthcare: Machine Learning Based Disease Prediction Using a Symptoms-Disease Dataset

Increased access to reliable health information is essential for non-English-speaking populations, yet resources in Bangla for disease prediction remain limited. This study addresses this gap by developing a comprehensive Bangla symptoms-disease dataset containing 758 unique symptom-disease relationships spanning 85 diseases. To ensure transparency and reproducibility, we also make our dataset publicly available. The dataset enables the prediction of diseases based on Bangla symptom inputs, supporting healthcare accessibility for Bengali-speaking populations. Using this dataset, we evaluated multiple machine learning models to predict diseases based on symptoms provided in Bangla and analyzed their performance on our dataset. Both soft and hard voting ensemble approaches combining top-performing models achieved 98\% accuracy, demonstrating superior robustness and generalization. Our work establishes a foundational resource for disease prediction in Bangla, paving the way for future advancements in localized health informatics and diagnostic tools. This contribution aims to enhance equitable access to health information for Bangla-speaking communities, particularly for early disease detection and healthcare interventions.
