CoAdapt-GUI: Joint Workflow Context and Policy Adaptation for Unseen GUI Applications

Mobile GUI agents remain brittle when deployed to applications absent from source training. We study novel-app generalization under a limited target interaction budget and without target demonstrations. We introduce CoAdapt-GUI, a test-time adaptation (TTA) framework that jointly adapts structured workflow context and policy from the agent's own target-app rollouts and rewards. The workflow context retains transferable procedures, failure modes, and verification rules while excluding app-bound source details. This separation allows reusable workflow knowledge to guide adaptation without transferring source-interface state. For policy adaptation, task-context-matched group-relative optimization updates a LoRA adapter on a frozen vision-language model. Across two unseen-app evaluations, CoAdapt-GUI reaches 45.0% on AndroidWorld-Generalization, compared with 37.5% for the reported Policy-Only TTA baseline, and raises AndroidWorld Plus performance from 38.6% to 52.9%. These results show that transfer-constrained workflow context provides substantial gains and that joint policy adaptation further improves held-out performance.

Dynamic Neural Graph Encoding of Inference Processes in Deep Weight Space

The rapid advancements in using neural networks as implicit data representations have attracted significant interest in developing machine learning methods that analyze and process the weight spaces of other neural networks. However, efficiently handling these highdimensional weight spaces remains challenging. Existing methods often overlook the sequential nature of layer-by-layer processing in neural network inference. In this work, we propose a novel approach using dynamic graphs to represent neural network parameters, capturing the temporal dynamics of inference. Our Dynamic Neural Graph Encoder (DNG-Encoder) processes these graphs, preserving the sequential nature of neural processing. Additionally, we also leverage DNG-Encoder to develop INR2JLS (Implicit Neural Representation to Joint Latent Space) for facilitate downstream applications, such as classifying Implicit Neural Representations (INRs). Our approach demonstrates significant improvements across multiple tasks, surpassing the state-of-the-art INR classification accuracy by approximately 10% on the CIFAR-100-INR.

ETR: Entropy Trend Reward for Efficient Chain-of-Thought Reasoning

Chain-of-thought (CoT) reasoning improves large language model performance on complex tasks, but often produces excessively long and inefficient reasoning traces. Existing methods shorten CoTs using length penalties or global entropy reduction, implicitly assuming that low uncertainty is desirable throughout reasoning. We show instead that reasoning efficiency is governed by the trajectory of uncertainty. CoTs with dominant downward entropy trends are substantially shorter. Motivated by this insight, we propose Entropy Trend Reward (ETR), a trajectory-aware objective that encourages progressive uncertainty reduction while allowing limited local exploration. We integrate ETR into Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO) and evaluate it across multiple reasoning models and challenging benchmarks. ETR consistently achieves a superior accuracy-efficiency tradeoff, improving DeepSeek-R1-Distill-7B by 9.9% in accuracy while reducing CoT length by 67% across four benchmarks. Normalized Conditional Mutual Information Surrogate Loss for Deep Neural Classifiers

In this paper, we propose a novel information theoretic surrogate loss; normalized conditional mutual information (NCMI); as a drop in alternative to the de facto cross-entropy (CE) for training deep neural network (DNN) based classifiers. We first observe that the model's NCMI is inversely proportional to its accuracy. Building on this insight, we introduce an alternating algorithm to efficiently minimize the NCMI. Across image recognition and whole-slide imaging (WSI) subtyping benchmarks, NCMI-trained models surpass state of the art losses by substantial margins at a computational cost comparable to that of CE. Notably, on ImageNet, NCMI yields a 2.77% top-1 accuracy improvement with ResNet-50 comparing to the CE; on CAMELYON-17, replacing CE with NCMI improves the macro-F1 by 8.6% over the strongest baseline. Gains are consistent across various architectures and batch sizes, suggesting that NCMI is a practical and competitive alternative to CE.
