V-FIND: Revealing the Intrinsic Forgery Knowledge Encoded in Video Forgery Detectors

As generated videos become increasingly realistic, reliable video forgery detection is increasingly important. Existing studies typically optimize and use video forgery detectors as black boxes, while the latent forgery-discriminative knowledge inside them remains largely unexplored. Instead of continuing to rely on resource-intensive full-model retraining to steadily improve detection performance, we ask whether video forgery detection can also be achieved by uncovering and activating sparse forensic knowledge within the detector. We find that forgery-discriminative knowledge is not uniformly distributed across the full representation space, but is concentrated in a sparse set of functionally specialized neurons. Based on this insight, we propose a video forgery-intrinsic neuron discovery (V-FIND) framework. V-FIND first localizes critical layers that exhibit pronounced discrepancies between real and forged videos, and then identifies latent anchor neurons that consistently carry forgery-discriminative signals, organizing them into a compact forensic subspace. With the original backbone frozen and only a lightweight linear classifier trained, this subspace still delivers strong detection performance across multiple external benchmarks for generated videos. Further neuron intervention experiments provide direct evidence for the functional specificity of the discovered neurons. Overall, these results suggest that video forgery detectors contain sparse, extractable, and reusable forgery-discriminative knowledge, offering a new perspective on understanding and exploiting their intrinsic forensic capability.

SafeNexus: Discovering and Steering Modality-Universal Safety Neurons in MLLMs

Although Large Language Models (LLMs) have demonstrated promising safety performance, extending them to Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) exposes a significant gap between expanded multimodal capabilities and existing safety mechanisms. Current defenses remain predominantly confined to specific modal settings, thereby limiting their robustness against broader cross-modal threats. To bridge this gap, we introduce SafeNexus, a cross-modal safety alignment framework that adopts a dedicated neuron-level intervention strategy. First, we formulate a neuron localization paradigm that identifies functionally specialized neurons by characterizing intermediate-layer activation patterns and quantifying their functional salience through importance scoring. Building upon this paradigm, we exploit contrastive data to identify modality-bound safety neurons (BS-Neurons), and validate their role in regulating safety behavior within each modality via targeted suppression. Further cross-modal analysis defines modality-universal safety neurons (US-Neurons) as the shared subset of BS-Neurons identified across individual modalities, serving as the core for defending against harmful cross-modal attacks. We observe that suppressing these neurons substantially degrades safety performance across modalities, while leaving overall utility largely unaffected. Building on these insights, we propose two safety alignment strategies: activation-level safety amplifier and safety neuron calibrator. The proposed strategies enhance model safety through two distinct routes: the former amplifies the activation magnitudes of US-Neurons, while the latter selectively calibrates them via targeted fine-tuning. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms prevailing state-of-the-art approaches on safety benchmarks spanning diverse modality combinations, while effectively preserving utility.

LaP-Forensics: Latent-Pixel Consistency Guided Multimodal Reasoning for Deepfake Detection

Recent generative models can produce images with few obvious visual artifacts, weakening detectors and explanations that rely only on surface appearance. We present LaP-Forensics, a multimodal framework that augments RGB semantics with reconstruction-based forensic evidence. A frozen Stable Diffusion DDIM inversion-reconstruction model provides a fixed reconstruction reference, and its residual map measures local compatibility with that reference. Independent projectors encode the RGB image and residual map before a structured Where-What-Why model predicts a textual analysis and an artifact mask.Supervised fine-tuning is followed by Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO), whose reward combines mask overlap with output-structure and evidence-reference terms. These text-side terms encourage the model to refer to the consistency map but do not constitute a verifier of free-form textual truth. A separate image-level head fuses RGB and DDIM-residual class features. Experiments show cross-generator detection on UniversalFakeDetect and competitive artifact localization on the official SynthScars benchmark. Controlled cue-construction, inversion-horizon, component, reward-term, and counterfactual analyses support the utility of the residual stream under the evaluated settings, while free-form textual faithfulness and reliability under post-processing remain open limitations.

Latent Anomaly Knowledge Excavation: Unveiling Sparse Sensitive Neurons in Vision-Language Models

Large-scale vision-language models (VLMs) exhibit remarkable zero-shot capabilities, yet the internal mechanisms driving their anomaly detection (AD) performance remain poorly understood. Current methods predominantly treat VLMs as black-box feature extractors, assuming that anomaly-specific knowledge must be acquired through external adapters or memory banks. In this paper, we challenge this assumption by arguing that anomaly knowledge is intrinsically embedded within pre-trained models but remains latent and under-activated. We hypothesize that this knowledge is concentrated within a sparse subset of anomaly-sensitive neurons. To validate this, we propose latent anomaly knowledge excavation (LAKE), a training-free framework that identifies and elicits these critical neuronal signals using only a minimal set of normal samples. By isolating these sensitive neurons, LAKE constructs a highly compact normality representation that integrates visual structural deviations with cross-modal semantic activations. Extensive experiments on industrial AD benchmarks demonstrate that LAKE achieves state-of-the-art performance while providing intrinsic, neuron-level interpretability. Ultimately, our work advocates for a paradigm shift: redefining anomaly detection as the targeted activation of latent pre-trained knowledge rather than the acquisition of a downstream task.

Beyond Surface Artifacts: Capturing Shared Latent Forgery Knowledge Across Modalities

As generative artificial intelligence evolves, deepfake attacks have escalated from single-modality manipulations to complex, multimodal threats. Existing forensic techniques face a severe generalization bottleneck: by relying excessively on superficial, modality-specific artifacts, they neglect the shared latent forgery knowledge hidden beneath variable physical appearances. Consequently, these models suffer catastrophic performance degradation when confronted with unseen "dark modalities." To break this limitation, this paper introduces a paradigm shift that redefines multimodal forensics from conventional "feature fusion" to "modality generalization." We propose the first modality-agnostic forgery (MAF) detection framework. By explicitly decoupling modality-specific styles, MAF precisely extracts the essential, cross-modal latent forgery knowledge. Furthermore, we define two progressive dimensions to quantify model generalization: transferability toward semantically correlated modalities (Weak MAF), and robustness against completely isolated signals of "dark modality" (Strong MAF). To rigorously assess these generalization limits, we introduce the DeepModal-Bench benchmark, which integrates diverse multimodal forgery detection algorithms and adapts state-of-the-art generalized learning methods. This study not only empirically proves the existence of universal forgery traces but also achieves significant performance breakthroughs on unknown modalities via the MAF framework, offering a pioneering technical pathway for universal multimodal defense.

OrthoEraser: Coupled-Neuron Orthogonal Projection for Concept Erasure

Text-to-image (T2I) models face significant safety risks from adversarial induction, yet current concept erasure methods often cause collateral damage to benign attributes when suppressing selected neurons entirely. This occurs because sensitive and benign semantics exhibit non-orthogonal superposition, sharing activation subspaces where their respective vectors are inherently entangled. To address this issue, we propose OrthoEraser, which leverages sparse autoencoders (SAE) to achieve high-resolution feature disentanglement and subsequently redefines erasure as an analytical orthogonalization projection that preserves the benign manifold's invariance. OrthoEraser first employs SAE to decompose dense activations and segregate sensitive neurons. It then uses coupled neuron detection to identify non-sensitive features vulnerable to intervention. The key novelty lies in an analytical gradient orthogonalization strategy that projects erasure vectors onto the null space of the coupled neurons. This orthogonally decouples the sensitive concepts from the identified critical benign subspace, effectively preserving non-sensitive semantics. Experimental results on safety demonstrate that OrthoEraser achieves high erasure precision, effectively removing harmful content while preserving the integrity of the generative manifold, and significantly outperforming SOTA baselines. This paper contains results of unsafe models.

TraceRouter: Robust Safety for Large Foundation Models via Path-Level Intervention

Despite their capabilities, large foundation models (LFMs) remain susceptible to adversarial manipulation. Current defenses predominantly rely on the "locality hypothesis", suppressing isolated neurons or features. However, harmful semantics act as distributed, cross-layer circuits, rendering such localized interventions brittle and detrimental to utility. To bridge this gap, we propose \textbf{TraceRouter}, a path-level framework that traces and disconnects the causal propagation circuits of illicit semantics. TraceRouter operates in three stages: (1) it pinpoints a sensitive onset layer by analyzing attention divergence; (2) it leverages sparse autoencoders (SAEs) and differential activation analysis to disentangle and isolate malicious features; and (3) it maps these features to downstream causal pathways via feature influence scores (FIS) derived from zero-out interventions. By selectively suppressing these causal chains, TraceRouter physically severs the flow of harmful information while leaving orthogonal computation routes intact. Extensive experiments demonstrate that TraceRouter significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, achieving a superior trade-off between adversarial robustness and general utility. Our code will be publicly released. WARNING: This paper contains unsafe model responses.

HarmoniAD: Harmonizing Local Structures and Global Semantics for Anomaly Detection

Anomaly detection is crucial in industrial product quality inspection. Failing to detect tiny defects often leads to serious consequences. Existing methods face a structure-semantics trade-off: structure-oriented models (such as frequency-based filters) are noise-sensitive, while semantics-oriented models (such as CLIP-based encoders) often miss fine details. To address this, we propose HarmoniAD, a frequency-guided dual-branch framework. Features are first extracted by the CLIP image encoder, then transformed into the frequency domain, and finally decoupled into high- and low-frequency paths for complementary modeling of structure and semantics. The high-frequency branch is equipped with a fine-grained structural attention module (FSAM) to enhance textures and edges for detecting small anomalies, while the low-frequency branch uses a global structural context module (GSCM) to capture long-range dependencies and preserve semantic consistency. Together, these branches balance fine detail and global semantics. HarmoniAD further adopts a multi-class joint training strategy, and experiments on MVTec-AD, VisA, and BTAD show state-of-the-art performance with both sensitivity and robustness.

FashionPose: Unified Text-Driven Fashion Synthesis with Joint Geometric and Photometric Control

Realistic and controllable garment synthesis is essential for fashion e-commerce, yet it demands precise coordination between human pose geometry and environmental photometry. Conventional pose-guided frameworks suffer from two fundamental limitations: they rely heavily on predefined skeletons from off-the-shelf estimators, restricting semantic flexibility; and they predominantly focus on studio-like generation under neutral lighting, failing to reconcile geometric configurations with complex, scene-specific illumination described in natural language. To bridge this gap, we propose FashionPose, a cascaded architecture that reconciles geometric and photometric control within a unified language-driven interface. Unlike conventional frameworks, our framework employs a decoupled yet synergistic strategy: (1) a bidirectional contrastive alignment mechanism that grounds textual semantics into an explicit geometric manifold, enabling template-free pose generation; (2) an identity-anchored synthesis module that translates these geometric priors into high-fidelity imagery while preserving fine-grained appearance; and (3) a prompt-conditioned relighting module that leverages the generated pose as a spatial anchor to achieve environment-aware shading. This hierarchical design effectively transforms high-level instructions into consistent visual representations, ensuring both structural precision and atmospheric harmony. To facilitate this paradigm, we construct PoseCap, a dataset with over 40,000 caption-keypoint pairs. Extensive experiments demonstrate that FashionPose outperforms existing benchmarks in pose accuracy and physical realism, providing a robust solution for personalized, scene-aware virtual fashion displays.
