Personalized Deep Research Query Refinement with Graph-Scaffolded Evidence Grounding

User requests serve as research specifications for deep research agents, shaping what evidence to seek and how to synthesize it. In personalized deep research, these specifications must additionally reflect user goals, constraints, preferences, and evaluation criteria. User context can be incorporated either within the deep research pipeline or into the research specification provided as its input. We focus on the latter, refining the user request into a personalized research specification before passing it to an unchanged deep research agent. This requires resolving three coupled decisions: which framing factors are relevant, whether the available user context sufficiently supports them, and whether to retrieve user memory, ask the user, or stop and refine the query. For training, G-STEER organizes framing factors as elicitation targets in an Intent Elicitation Graph that captures their dependencies. It learns a clarification policy from graph-scaffolded trajectories spanning diverse factor dependencies and evidence conditions. The policy produces a refined query while balancing target coverage against the costs of evidence acquisition. Experiments show that G-STEER achieves the strongest overall weighted target coverage and the highest downstream report personalization across both evaluated DRAs, while asking roughly one third as many user questions as a strong clarification baseline.

Region4Web: Rethinking Observation Space Granularity for Web Agents

Web agents perceive web pages through an observation space, yet its granularity has remained an underexamined design choice. Existing work treats observation at the same element-level granularity as the action space, leaving the page's functional organization implicit and forcing the agent to infer it from element-level signals at every step. We argue observation should instead operate at the granularity of functional regions, parts of the page that each serve a distinct purpose. We propose Region4Web, a framework that reorganizes the AXTree into functional regions through hierarchical decomposition and semantic abstraction, exposing the page's functional organization as the basis for page state understanding. Moreover, we propose PageDigest, a web-specific inference pipeline that delivers this region-level observation to the actor agent as a compact per-page digest that persists across steps. On the WebArena benchmark, PageDigest substantially reduces observation length while improving overall task success rate across diverse backbone large language models (LLMs) and established agent methods, regardless of backbone capacity. These results show that operating at the granularity of functional regions delivers a more compact and informative basis for the actor agent than element-level processing alone.

CONDESION-BENCH: Conditional Decision-Making of Large Language Models in Compositional Action Space

Large language models have been widely explored as decision-support tools in high-stakes domains due to their contextual understanding and reasoning capabilities. However, existing decision-making benchmarks rely on two simplifying assumptions: actions are selected from a finite set of pre-defined candidates, and explicit conditions restricting action feasibility are not incorporated into the decision-making process. These assumptions fail to capture the compositional structure of real-world actions and the explicit conditions that constrain their validity. To address these limitations, we introduce CONDESION-BENCH, a benchmark designed to evaluate conditional decision-making in compositional action space. In CONDESION-BENCH, actions are defined as allocations to decision variables and are restricted by explicit conditions at the variable, contextual, and allocation levels. By employing oracle-based evaluation of both decision quality and condition adherence, we provide a more rigorous assessment of LLMs as decision-support tools.

AgenticShop: Benchmarking Agentic Product Curation for Personalized Web Shopping

The proliferation of e-commerce has made web shopping platforms key gateways for customers navigating the vast digital marketplace. Yet this rapid expansion has led to a noisy and fragmented information environment, increasing cognitive burden as shoppers explore and purchase products online. With promising potential to alleviate this challenge, agentic systems have garnered growing attention for automating user-side tasks in web shopping. Despite significant advancements, existing benchmarks fail to comprehensively evaluate how well agentic systems can curate products in open-web settings. Specifically, they have limited coverage of shopping scenarios, focusing only on simplified single-platform lookups rather than exploratory search. Moreover, they overlook personalization in evaluation, leaving unclear whether agents can adapt to diverse user preferences in realistic shopping contexts. To address this gap, we present AgenticShop, the first benchmark for evaluating agentic systems on personalized product curation in open-web environment. Crucially, our approach features realistic shopping scenarios, diverse user profiles, and a verifiable, checklist-driven personalization evaluation framework. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate that current agentic systems remain largely insufficient, emphasizing the need for user-side systems that effectively curate tailored products across the modern web.
